The Arlington Central School District, a unique culturally diverse district with influences of urban, suburban and rural settings, is located in the Mid-Hudson region of Dutchess County, New York. We educate nearly 9,000 students in 11 schools, including eight elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.

We are currently seeking applicants for a Deputy Superintendent, effective July 1, 2018. The Deputy Superintendent is responsible for the development and implementation of the District’s K-12 instructional program, including but not limited to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and accountability. In addition, she/he will assist and collaborate with the Superintendent and District administration in the coordination of District initiatives, strategic planning, and facilitation of District-level committees which support District priorities and Board Goals. In the absence of the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent is responsible for the successful operation of the District. The Deputy Superintendent shall report to the Superintendent of Schools.

Candidates must be highly-motivated school leaders with broad leadership experience. Successful candidates must possess strong communication skills; exceptional knowledge of instructional practices; ability to collaborate well with all stakeholders; a record of successful experience as an administrator and a valid NYS administrative certification (SDA, SDL).
