About Rondout Valley Central School District
The beauty of rural living abounds throughout the towns served by the Rondout Valley Central School District. Mountain vistas, meandering streams and family farms are common throughout the District, which serves the Ulster County towns of Rochester, Marbletown, Rosendale and Wawarsing. But don't let the quaint appeal of these agriculturally based towns fool you into thinking our community is isolated. The Rondout Valley Central School District borders the city of Kingston and is just 90 miles north of New York City. We are close to the beautiful, historic Hudson River as well as to multiple diversified manufacturing facilities. The District's central location and easy access to the New York State Thruway provide access to an array of cultural, educational and recreational opportunities. Our community is home to a number of nationally and internationally acclaimed musicians, artisans and craftspeople, as well as SUNY Ulster, a well-regarded community college. Other institutions of higher education are also within easy commute, including the State University of New York at New Paltz, Vassar College, Marist College and Bard College.
