Leadership for the total Secondary Education program of the school district will be assumed by this individual.
Leader of International Baccalaureate (Gr. 6 – 12) program and related activities
Supervises Secondary School Administrators, Technology Department, Secondary Staff Development personnel
Completes and files plans with SED (MTSS, School Counseling, PDP)
Coordinates/develops all data reporting functions at the secondary level
Designs/implements all secondary staff development, summer curriculum, secondary standardized testing
Heads all discipline at the secondary level including conducting Superintendent Hearings
Writes and coordinates Title I, II(a), IV and VI grants with Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education
Leader or Co-Leader of various district committees including District Master Plan, High School Policy, K-12 Technology, K-12 Music, MTSS, and Professional Development.
Attends all Board of Education meetings and reports on Secondary curriculum, instructional programming and District Master Plan. Serves as a resource to the Board of Education Policy Committee.
Other duties include working with a wide variety of parent and community groups, and other leadership tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools. This individual will report directly to the Superintendent of Schools.
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
(1) Successful full-time teaching experience of at least five years
(2) New York State Administrative Certification (SAS and/or SDA, SBL and/or SDL)
(3) Prior successful administrative experience either as a principal or in a district-wide administrative position.
(4) Background and knowledge of curriculum on a 6-12 basis
(5) The ability to communicate and lead staff effectively
(6) The ability to effectively plan and coordinate programs on a district-wide basis.
